Phil Wickham, born April 5, 1984, may be young and relatively new to the Contemporary Christian music circuit, but he is rapidly climbing the charts with his new single featuring Bart Millard, Safe. For the week ending April 3, 2010, Safe ranks #4 in the nation on the Billboard Christian Songs Chart.
Phil Wickham – The Early Years
At only 24 years old, he seems so young, but considering he began leading worship for his youth group at the age of 12, Phil Wickham is an old pro at inspiring others to look to God for the answers of life. It's a family business. Phil was raised in a Christian home surrounded by Christian music. His old brother, Evan, is a musician and his father is a worship leader. In fact, at one time, both his mom and his dad were members of the 1960's & 1970's Jesus Movement band, Parable.
